Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Laundry & Linen Route Driver to join our team in Glasgow. This pivotal role involves the timely and efficient collection and delivery of commercial laundry and linen to our valued clients across various sectors. You will be the face of Elis UK, ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and their linen needs are met with precision. This is a full-time position with the added benefit of enjoying your weekends off.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver and collect linen products to commercial clients.
- Load and unload laundry items carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Maintain accurate delivery and collection records, including client signatures and documentation.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries and issues professionally.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including sorting and preparing linen for routes.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift and move heavy items regularly
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Basic numeracy and literacy for paperwork and record-keeping
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a multi-drop delivery or route driver role
- Knowledge of Glasgow and surrounding areas
- Experience operating commercial vehicles
- Forklift license (preferred but not essential)
