Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and professional Linehaul Logistics Drivers to join our dynamic team in Pimlico, London. This role is crucial for maintaining the seamless flow of goods within our extensive network. As a Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight between our major hubs and depots. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate Class 1 (Category C+E) vehicles for long-distance linehaul routes.
- Transport freight between DHL hubs and partner depots across the UK, adhering to all road regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods, communicating any delays or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logbook entries and complete all necessary paperwork, including manifests and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring the secure loading and unloading of cargo.
- Represent DHL Express professionally at all times.
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to optimize routes and schedules.
- Operate in compliance with tachograph regulations and driver hours rules.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor roadside adjustments if necessary.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Current Driver Qualification Card (CPC).
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Proven experience as a Class 1 HGV driver, preferably in linehaul operations.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and driving laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and on-time delivery.
- Physically fit and able to handle the demands of long-haul driving and potential manual handling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a global logistics or express delivery company.
- Knowledge of the DHL network and operational procedures.
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle troubleshooting.
