Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally attuned Luxury Brand Translator with a strong focus on fashion to join our global team. This remote role is crucial for maintaining the prestige and authenticity of Louis Vuitton’s voice across various international markets. You will be responsible for translating a wide range of content, including marketing materials, product descriptions, press releases, website copy, and internal communications, ensuring linguistic precision and cultural relevance that resonates with our discerning clientele worldwide. The ideal candidate will possess an impeccable command of source and target languages, a deep understanding of luxury fashion terminology, and an ability to convey brand nuance with elegance and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate and localize marketing campaigns, product launches, website content, and editorial pieces from source language (typically English or French) to target languages.
- Ensure all translated content maintains Louis Vuitton's distinct brand voice, tone, and style, adhering to brand guidelines and glossaries.
- Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of translated materials to ensure accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and stylistic consistency.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and communications teams to understand specific project requirements and deliver high-quality translations on deadline.
- Manage terminology databases and translation memories to promote consistency and efficiency across projects.
- Research and stay current with fashion trends, luxury market nuances, and cultural sensitivities in target markets.
- Provide linguistic quality assurance (LQA) for content delivered by external translation vendors when necessary.
Required Skills
- Native-level proficiency in at least one target language (e.g., German, Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, etc.) and full professional proficiency in English or French.
- Proven experience as a translator, specifically within the luxury fashion or high-end retail industry.
- Exceptional linguistic abilities, including grammar, syntax, and stylistic accuracy.
- Deep understanding of cultural nuances and effective localization strategies for global luxury markets.
- Proficiency with Translation Memory (TM) tools and CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ, SDL Trados, Smartcat).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across large volumes of content.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Fashion Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience translating content specifically for digital platforms and e-commerce.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices for localized content.
- Ability to translate from both English and French into the target language(s).
