Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mother’s Aide to support a private family in West Valley City, Utah. This unique role combines essential childcare duties with light housekeeping, providing comprehensive support to the mother and household. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the family’s daily life, fostering a positive, organized, and loving home environment. This is an on-site, full-time position requiring a commitment to long-term engagement with a welcoming family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily childcare, including feeding, dressing, bathing, and engaging children in age-appropriate activities and learning.
  • Support children’s educational development and play through creative and stimulating interactions.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as tidying common areas, laundry for the family, meal preparation for children, and organizing toys/play areas.
  • Assist with errands and appointments as needed, including school pickups/drop-offs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized home environment conducive to family living.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with the mother regarding children’s well-being, progress, and household needs.
  • Provide occasional overnight support if requested (with advance notice and additional compensation).
  • Adhere to household routines and preferences while exercising good judgment and initiative.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in childcare (babysitting, nanny, or similar roles).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks efficiently and meticulously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a warm and nurturing demeanor.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic home environment.
  • Discretion and respect for family privacy and household confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Mother's Helper, Nanny, or Au Pair.
  • Early Childhood Education background or relevant certifications.
  • Experience with various age groups, particularly toddlers and school-aged children.
  • Proficiency in basic cooking and meal planning for children.
  • Flexibility with scheduling to accommodate family needs.
