Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our esteemed team within a vibrant birth center environment in Summerlin, Las Vegas. This role is pivotal in providing holistic, evidence-based care to women throughout their reproductive lifespan, with a special emphasis on prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum support in a low-intervention setting. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to women across their lifespan, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations, health histories, and diagnostic tests.
- Manage labor and delivery in a birth center setting, supporting physiological birth processes.
- Offer newborn care immediately following birth, including initial assessments and support for breastfeeding.
- Provide family planning services, well-woman care, and preventative health screenings.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and childbirth preparation.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with established standards and regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance clinical practice.
Required Skills
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nevada.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Midwife or in a related obstetrics setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Strong commitment to patient advocacy and holistic care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on Nurse-Midwifery.
- Experience practicing in a dedicated birth center or a low-intervention birthing model.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems specific to obstetrics/midwifery.
