Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented OCR Data Entry Specialist to join our remote team. This is a crucial home office position focused on the accurate conversion and verification of various document types using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of digitized data, performing text recognition, and making corrections as needed. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. As a 100% remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate OCR software to process and convert physical and digital documents into editable text formats.
- Review, verify, and correct data extracted by OCR technology, ensuring high levels of accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in data, performing manual data entry when OCR recognition is insufficient.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all client and company information.
- Organize and manage large volumes of data efficiently within specified databases and systems.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Provide feedback on OCR software performance and suggest improvements for efficiency.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding data handling and quality control.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in using OCR software and data entry platforms.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors quickly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of data privacy and security principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with document management systems.
- Familiarity with various document types and data structures.
- Experience in quality assurance or data auditing.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
