Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart a technical career in a dynamic and essential industry? Specsavers is offering an exciting opportunity for an Optical Lab Technician (Junior) to join our team in Islington, London. No prior experience is required as we provide comprehensive, paid training to equip you with all the skills needed to excel. This role is perfect for individuals with a keen eye for detail, a passion for precision, and a desire to learn about optics and lens manufacturing. You will play a crucial role in creating high-quality eyewear that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and master the process of spectacle lens production, including surfacing, glazing, and fitting.
  • Operate and maintain optical laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Read and interpret optical prescriptions to create custom lenses.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished products to meet Specsavers' high standards.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and optometrists to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
