Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for a dynamic and rewarding role? FedEx is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Overnight Freight Sorters in Sugar Land, TX. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate sorting of packages and freight, ensuring timely delivery for our customers. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. You will work within a supportive team, contributing directly to the backbone of global commerce.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort packages and freight according to destination and established procedures.
- Load and unload freight manually and with equipment as needed, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Scan packages accurately to maintain tracking and inventory records.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for overnight shifts.
- Ability to work effectively during the 10 PM to 6 AM shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or package handling environment.
- Familiarity with scanning equipment and warehouse operations.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
