Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Editorial Analyst to join our remote team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of metadata and editorial content across the Netflix platform. As an Editorial Analyst, you will play a key part in categorizing, tagging, and reviewing content information, directly impacting how millions of subscribers discover and engage with our diverse library. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the USA, contributing to our mission of connecting people with stories they’ll love.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate content to extract relevant metadata (genres, themes, moods, keywords).
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of editorial data across various content types.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on content descriptions, titles, and other textual elements.
- Identify and report discrepancies or inconsistencies in content metadata.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and content operations, to improve data quality and workflows.
- Adhere to established editorial guidelines and taxonomies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of metadata standards and practices.
- Stay informed about current entertainment trends and audience preferences.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (US English).
- Proficiency in data entry and experience with content management systems (CMS) or database tools is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A genuine passion for movies, TV shows, and entertainment content.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed remote team.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with various software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Communications, English, Film Studies, or a related field.
- Experience with metadata standards or taxonomies.
- Familiarity with various content genres and international entertainment.
- Prior experience in a remote work environment.
- Fluency in a second language is a plus.
