Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Petroleum Geologist to join our dynamic exploration and production team. This role is crucial for identifying, evaluating, and developing hydrocarbon resources across our diverse portfolio. The successful candidate will apply advanced geological principles and techniques to analyze subsurface data, interpret seismic information, and generate robust geological models. You will work within a collaborative, international team environment, providing geological expertise to support drilling programs, reservoir characterization, and field development planning. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed geological interpretations of seismic data, well logs, cores, and cuttings to characterize subsurface reservoirs.
  • Generate and maintain robust geological models for prospect generation, reservoir simulation, and development planning.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to integrate geological insights with geophysical, petrophysical, and engineering data.
  • Provide geological support during drilling operations, including well-site supervision and real-time data interpretation.
  • Assess and quantify geological risks and uncertainties associated with exploration and development projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and maps to communicate findings to management and project teams.
  • Mentor junior geologists and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and geological methodologies applicable to petroleum exploration and production.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Petroleum Geologist in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Geographix, Kingdom Suite).
  • Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and petrophysics.
  • Experience in seismic interpretation and integration with well data.
  • Demonstrated ability to build detailed subsurface geological models.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and culturally diverse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Petroleum Geology or a related discipline.
  • Experience with unconventional resource plays.
  • Knowledge of reservoir engineering principles and simulation workflows.
  • Familiarity with geochemical analysis and basin modeling.
  • Professional Geologist (P.Geo) designation or eligibility for registration.
