Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and efficient Pick and Pack Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team, focusing on general merchandise. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately picking customer orders from our warehouse inventory and preparing them for shipment. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial for success. This position plays a key part in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time, upholding Target’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick general merchandise items from warehouse locations based on order sheets or scanning devices.
- Inspect items for quality and damage before packing.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, ensuring items are protected during transit.
- Apply shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or carts safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity goals.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning and order processing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physical environment.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or RF scanners.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
