Job Description
Mount Sinai Health System is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for Per Diem (PRN) opportunities in various clinical settings across our Manhattan facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for LPNs looking for flexibility, high hourly compensation, and the chance to contribute to patient care without a long-term commitment. You will play a vital role in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration (within scope of practice), wound care, and specimen collection.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Document patient observations, care provided, and responses to interventions accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication adherence.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Adhere to all Mount Sinai Health System policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Current New York State LPN License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an LPN in a clinical setting (hospital, skilled nursing, or long-term care).
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Proficiency with Epic EHR system.
