Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Professional Rug Washer to join our team, working directly from the convenience of your home. This unique ‘at-home’ position means you will manage rug cleaning projects received from our local Manchester depot, utilizing high-quality, professional-grade equipment that we provide. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking flexibility and the ability to work independently while delivering Chem-Dry’s renowned deep cleaning results. While the core work is performed at-home, occasional visits to our depot in Manchester for supply replenishment, equipment maintenance, or training may be required. This is a 100% remote working model for the actual rug washing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming rugs for cleaning at your home-based workspace.
- Safely and effectively operate provided professional rug cleaning equipment.
- Perform thorough pre-treatment, cleaning, and post-treatment of various rug types (wool, synthetic, delicate, etc.) according to Chem-Dry standards.
- Ensure all cleaning processes adhere to health and safety guidelines.
- Conduct final quality checks to ensure rugs meet client expectations and company standards.
- Coordinate with the local depot for timely pickup and drop-off of rugs and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your home-based cleaning area and equipment.
- Provide basic maintenance and troubleshooting for assigned cleaning equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Basic understanding of different rug materials and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Ability to lift and move rugs of varying sizes and weights (up to 20kg).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Access to a suitable home-based workspace for rug cleaning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in rug or carpet cleaning.
- Knowledge of eco-friendly cleaning practices.
- Full UK driving license for potential local pickups/deliveries (though not primary).
