Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our innovative telehealth team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home office while providing essential mental health services to patients across various demographics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leveraging technology to improve patient access to psychiatric care, conducting comprehensive assessments, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions in a virtual setting. You will be an integral part of a collaborative clinical team, dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered mental healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for diverse patient populations via telehealth.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions according to DSM-5 criteria.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Provide patient education regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care providers and therapists, to ensure integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to all ethical guidelines, professional standards, and state/federal regulations governing psychiatric practice and telehealth.
  • Manage acute psychiatric symptoms and provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Provide compassionate and culturally sensitive care to all patients.

Required Skills

  • Current, unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in California (additional state licenses a plus).
  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited nursing program with a specialization in psychiatric mental health.
  • ANCC Board Certification as a PMHNP.
  • DEA registration.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Proficiency in psychopharmacology and medication management for various psychiatric disorders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comfort and proficiency with telehealth technology and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing PMHNP, preferably in a telehealth or outpatient setting.
  • Experience with diverse patient populations, including adolescents and adults.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing).
  • Multiple state licenses are highly desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
