Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Refuse Loaders / Bin Collectors to join our Cranston team. This physically demanding role involves the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling materials from designated routes. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load refuse and recycling into collection vehicles on assigned routes.
- Operate compaction mechanism and other vehicle controls as instructed.
- Regularly check for hazards and report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
- Assist the driver with navigating routes and backing up the vehicle as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods (lifting, bending, walking, pushing, pulling).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste collection or similar physically demanding outdoor work.
- Valid driver's license (not required for loader, but can be a plus for future growth).
- Familiarity with local Cranston routes and areas.
