Job Description

As a Retail Banker at U.S. Bank, you will be the face of our institution, serving as a primary point of contact for customers. You will build lasting relationships by understanding their financial needs and providing tailored solutions, including opening new accounts, processing transactions, and referring them to specialists for more complex needs like loans or investments. This full-time position guarantees 40 hours per week, offering stability and a clear path for career advancement within our branch network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and confident manner to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Open new deposit accounts, process loan applications, and assist with various banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
  • Identify opportunities to refer customers to internal partners for specialized services, including mortgage, business banking, and wealth management.
  • Educate customers on digital banking solutions and self-service options to enhance their banking experience.
  • Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Bank's products and services.
  • Assist with branch operational tasks, including balancing cash drawers and maintaining accurate records.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or retail sales environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven ability to build rapport and trust with customers
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software applications
  • Cash handling experience with high accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Previous experience in banking or financial services
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English) to support a diverse customer base
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales or referral goals
