Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Service Attendant to join our luxurious hotel team in Swansea. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a superior dining experience directly to our guests’ rooms, ensuring prompt and accurate service with a friendly and professional demeanor. This position requires flexibility for shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of our 24/7 operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process room service orders accurately, either over the phone or through digital systems.
  • Prepare and set up trays with appropriate food, beverages, and cutlery according to guest orders and hotel standards.
  • Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms efficiently and courteously, ensuring timely service.
  • Present invoices and accurately process payments, handling cash, credit cards, or room charges.
  • Retrieve used trays and dishes from guest rooms and corridors, maintaining cleanliness and order.
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to during preparation and delivery.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond to requests promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory and stocking of room service supplies as needed.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and delivery.
  • Ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • A professional and polished appearance.
  • Basic numeracy for handling payments and invoices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
