Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Analytical Scientist with a strong focus on method development to join our dynamic team in Riverside, CA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and transferring robust analytical methods for the characterization of a diverse range of compounds, supporting our R&D and Quality Control initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in various analytical techniques, a proven track record of solving complex analytical problems, and a commitment to scientific excellence and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, Spectroscopy) for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Perform complex analytical testing and data interpretation to support formulation development, stability studies, and quality control.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve analytical method issues, instrumentation malfunctions, and out-of-specification results.
  • Author and review technical documents, including method development reports, validation protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay current with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, ICH, USP) related to analytical method development and validation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analytical scientists and laboratory personnel.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs teams.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in analytical method development and validation within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or contract research organization (CRO) setting.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with chromatography (HPLC, GC) and mass spectrometry (LC-MS, GC-MS) techniques.
  • Proficiency in data acquisition and processing software.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP/GLP regulations and ICH guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and interpret experiments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field.
  • Experience with other analytical techniques such as Spectroscopy (UV/Vis, FTIR), Karl Fischer, or particle size analysis.
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
  • Experience in a lead or project management role within an analytical lab environment.
