Job Description

As a Solo OTR Driver with Schneider National, you’ll be at the forefront of our operations, transporting goods across the country with the freedom to choose your own loads. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) over long distances.
  • Transport freight efficiently and on schedule, adhering to all DOT regulations.
  • Utilize dispatch systems to choose and manage loads effectively.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicle compliance and safety.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
  • Represent Schneider National professionally on the road and at customer sites.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A CDL.
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable OTR driving experience.
  • Clean driving record (MVR).
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Proficient in using ELD systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various trailer types (dry van, reefer).
  • Familiarity with hazmat endorsements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
