Job Description
As a Solo OTR Driver with Schneider National, you’ll be at the forefront of our operations, transporting goods across the country with the freedom to choose your own loads. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) over long distances.
- Transport freight efficiently and on schedule, adhering to all DOT regulations.
- Utilize dispatch systems to choose and manage loads effectively.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicle compliance and safety.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
- Represent Schneider National professionally on the road and at customer sites.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable OTR driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR).
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Proficient in using ELD systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various trailer types (dry van, reefer).
- Familiarity with hazmat endorsements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
