Job Description

Target is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Student Creative Assistant with a strong focus on graphic design to join our local marketing team in Antioch, CA. This part-time role offers an invaluable opportunity for a current student to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail environment, contributing to local marketing initiatives and visual communications. You will support our creative specialists by assisting in the development and execution of various graphic design projects, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality visual output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and adaptation of graphic assets for digital and print media, including in-store signage, social media content, and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and develop visual solutions that align with Target's brand guidelines.
  • Prepare design files for production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct image research, basic photo editing, and asset organization.
  • Support creative project management by tracking progress and coordinating with team members.
  • Provide general administrative support to the creative department as needed.
  • Stay updated on design trends and software advancements to bring fresh ideas to the team.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Basic understanding of graphic design principles, typography, and color theory.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong online portfolio showcasing graphic design projects (academic or personal).
  • Previous experience with digital asset management systems.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics or video editing software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Experience with UI/UX design principles.
