Job Description
Are you looking for an entry-level opportunity with a path for growth? RoadSafe Traffic Systems is hiring Traffic Controllers in Grand Rapids, MI! We provide comprehensive paid training to equip you with the skills needed to safely and efficiently manage traffic around construction zones and events. This role offers consistent full-time hours, opportunities for overtime, and the chance to be a vital part of infrastructure development and public safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic using hand signals and approved flagger signs.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and signage according to safety plans.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Monitor traffic flow and make adjustments to traffic control as needed to ensure safety.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform general labor duties as assigned, including loading and unloading equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Operate company vehicles safely (if licensed and assigned).
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, labor, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Flagger certification (OSHA, ATSSA, or state-specific).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, when required.
