Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a UPS Patient Transport – Non-Clinical support. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and respectful transportation of patients to various departments within the hospital, as well as assisting with patient mobility and comfort. This is a non-clinical support position, focusing on logistical and supportive tasks that are crucial to our patients’ journey through care. You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to and from various hospital departments (e.g., imaging, therapy, discharge).
  • Assist patients with transfers to and from transport equipment, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of all transport equipment, including wheelchairs and stretchers.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Follow all established safety protocols and hospital policies regarding patient handling and transport.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or patient concerns to appropriate nursing staff immediately.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide basic non-clinical support and comfort measures to patients during transport.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • CPR certification (Basic Life Support)
