Job Description
Are you a student looking for a rewarding, flexible weekend job? Bright Horizons is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Weekend Student Nannies to provide exceptional childcare services to families within the vibrant South End neighborhood of Charlotte. This part-time role is perfect for students eager to gain valuable experience, make a difference in children’s lives, and earn competitive pay. You will be responsible for creating a safe, fun, and stimulating environment, assisting with daily routines, and engaging children in age-appropriate developmental activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Engage children in creative, educational, and age-appropriate activities, including playtime, arts and crafts, reading, and outdoor adventures.
- Assist with meal and snack preparation and feeding, adhering to any dietary restrictions.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks related to children's activities, such as tidying up toys and play areas.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any notable observations or concerns.
- Follow established household rules, routines, and specific instructions provided by parents.
- Provide occasional homework help or reading support as needed.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience caring for children (e.g., babysitting, volunteer work, camp counseling, family care).
- Ability to engage children in creative, educational, and imaginative play.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with both children and parents.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a responsible, mature demeanor.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or a willingness to obtain quickly upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program (any major).
- Previous experience as a camp counselor, tutor, daycare assistant, or similar role.
- Basic understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate activities.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
