Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Weight Loss Clinic Nurse with a strong focus on nutrition and wellness to join our specialized team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is crucial in supporting patients through their weight loss journey, providing education, guidance, and clinical support to achieve sustainable health outcomes. You will work closely with dietitians, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, individualized care plans. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including medical history, current health status, and weight loss goals.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition and weight loss plans in collaboration with medical staff.
- Provide one-on-one and group patient education on healthy eating, lifestyle modifications, and medication management related to weight loss.
- Monitor patient progress, record vital signs, track weight changes, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Administer medications, perform injections, and assist with minor procedures as required within the clinic setting.
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices or supplements as part of their weight management program.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring a supportive and encouraging environment.
- Collaborate with dietitians, physicians, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
- Stay current with the latest research and best practices in weight management, nutrition, and wellness.
Required Skills
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Strong understanding of nutrition principles, weight management strategies, and chronic disease prevention.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Certification in Weight Management (e.g., CBN, CWM) or Nutrition.
- Previous experience in a weight loss clinic, bariatric surgery unit, or wellness center.
- Experience with motivational interviewing techniques.
