Job Description
Embark on a rewarding career path as a CDL Trainee with Old Dominion Freight Line! We are offering a fully sponsored, paid CDL training program designed to equip you with the skills and certification needed to become a professional truck driver. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive classroom instruction and hands-on behind-the-wheel training to help you successfully pass your CDL Class A exam. Upon successful completion of the training and obtaining your CDL, you will be offered a guaranteed full-time driving position with Old Dominion Freight Line. Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in all classroom and practical training sessions.
- Learn and adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely under the guidance of certified instructors.
- Master pre-trip and post-trip inspections, basic vehicle control, and advanced driving maneuvers.
- Study and prepare for the CDL Class A written and skills exams.
- Maintain a high level of attendance and commitment throughout the training program.
- Communicate effectively with instructors and fellow trainees.
- Successfully obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within the program timeline.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Motivation to learn and pursue a career in professional driving.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
