Job Description

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Clinical Support Porters in Ipswich. This is an incredible opportunity to start a career in healthcare, offering full-time hours, weekly pay, and comprehensive training. As a Clinical Support Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical teams by safely and efficiently transporting patients, equipment, and vital supplies around our hospital sites. Your dedication will ensure our patients receive the best possible care in a timely manner. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, often by wheelchair or bed, between departments and wards.
- Move medical equipment, specimens, blood products, and supplies efficiently.
- Deliver patient notes, mail, and other urgent items across the hospital.
- Assist with the transfer of deceased patients to the mortuary, showing respect and dignity.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment, ensuring equipment is stored appropriately.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and hospital policies.
- Respond promptly to requests from clinical staff and control room operators.
