Job Description
Google is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Officer with a strong regulatory focus to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United Kingdom. As a Google Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring Google’s adherence to global and local regulatory requirements, particularly those impacting our diverse product and service portfolio. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust compliance programs, advising on regulatory changes, and mitigating compliance risks. You will collaborate closely with legal, engineering, and business teams to embed compliance principles into our operations and product development lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze new and evolving regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions relevant to Google's operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert guidance to product teams, legal counsel, and business units on complex regulatory matters.
- Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate compliance into business processes and product development lifecycles.
- Foster a strong culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging compliance trends.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or risk management roles within a large, multinational technology company or a highly regulated industry.
- Deep understanding of global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), antitrust laws, consumer protection, and other relevant digital regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory texts and apply them practically.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration with distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Law (JD/LL.M.), Business, or a related field.
- Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CCEP, CAMS).
- Experience engaging with regulatory bodies and external legal counsel.
- Familiarity with Google's products and services and their associated regulatory landscapes.
- Proficiency in project management tools and compliance software.
