Job Description
Are you passionate about data and eager to kickstart your career in Data Science? Qualcomm is looking for a motivated WFH Junior Data Scientist to join our innovative team. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with limited or no prior professional experience in data science, as comprehensive support and training will be provided. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Develop and implement basic statistical models and machine learning algorithms under supervision.
- Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior data scientists and engineers to understand project requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous learning initiatives to enhance data science skills.
- Document code, methodologies, and findings clearly and concisely.
- Contribute to the improvement of data collection and analysis processes.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of statistics and probability.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R).
- Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Basic knowledge of SQL for data querying.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI).
- Exposure to machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Completed relevant online courses or personal projects in data science.
