Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Truck Rental Counter Agent to join our Fort Wayne team. In this customer service-focused role, you will be the first point of contact for customers looking to rent trucks, trailers, and moving equipment. You will handle reservations, process rental agreements, and ensure a smooth and positive experience for every customer. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping people. Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with truck, trailer, and equipment rentals, explaining terms and conditions clearly.
- Process rental agreements, payments, and returns accurately using computer systems.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment with customers before and after rentals for damage and cleanliness.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and resolve customer issues professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the rental office and vehicle staging areas.
- Educate customers on additional services and products such as moving supplies, insurance options, and self-storage.
- Manage inventory of moving supplies and other retail items.
- Perform light vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are ready for rental.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
- Familiarity with truck rental operations or automotive services.
