Job Description

HCA Florida Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and analytical Quality Improvement Nurse with a strong focus on data and compliance. This vital role involves actively participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives across various clinical areas. The ideal candidate will leverage data analysis to identify trends, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and drive evidence-based practice to enhance patient safety and outcomes. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, educate staff on best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous quality enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in quality improvement projects and committees.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission).
  • Develop and implement action plans based on audit findings and performance data.
  • Provide education and training to staff on quality initiatives, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Facilitate root cause analyses for adverse events and near misses, developing preventative strategies.
  • Prepare and present reports on quality performance and compliance metrics to leadership.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate quality and safety practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and regulatory changes.

Required Skills

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Proven experience in quality improvement, patient safety, or regulatory compliance within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and quality reporting systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • Certification in Quality Improvement (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt).
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Excel advanced functions).
  • Knowledge of TJC, CMS, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
