Job Description
Join XPO Logistics as a Regional Flatbed Driver and become a vital part of our specialized transportation team. We are seeking experienced, safety-conscious individuals to haul diverse cargo, primarily requiring flatbed expertise, including securement and tarping. This role offers the stability of a regional route, allowing for consistent home time while providing the opportunity to earn competitive pay, including additional compensation for tarping and performance-based bonuses. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, adhering to all DOT regulations, and upholding XPO’s high standards of service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (Class A CDL) with a flatbed trailer over regional routes.
- Properly secure and tarp various types of freight according to established safety protocols and customer requirements.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and all required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving regulations, including DOT standards.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while prioritizing safety and efficiency.
- Represent XPO Logistics professionally to customers and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable flatbed driving experience
- Proven experience with freight securement and tarping techniques
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Familiarity with regional routes in the Mid-Atlantic area
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
