Job Description
Join GlaxoSmithKline as a High-Security Pharmaceutical Courier. This is an essential, on-site role responsible for the secure, internal transport of highly sensitive pharmaceutical materials, samples, and documents within our state-of-the-art facility in Durham, NC. This position is 100% indoor, operating within controlled environments, requiring strict adherence to security protocols and handling procedures. Your dedication ensures the integrity and timely movement of critical assets that support our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and securely transport sensitive pharmaceutical materials, samples, and confidential documents between designated internal locations.
- Adhere strictly to all high-security protocols, chain-of-custody procedures, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, DEA) for pharmaceutical handling.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all transported items, including pickup, delivery, and temperature monitoring (if applicable).
- Operate and maintain specialized internal transport equipment (e.g., climate-controlled carts, secure containers).
- Conduct pre- and post-route inspections of equipment and materials to ensure security and integrity.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate pickups and deliveries, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Report any security breaches, discrepancies, or issues immediately to appropriate management.
- Participate in regular security training and compliance refreshers.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to follow strict safety and security protocols without deviation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Good physical stamina, capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and standing/walking for extended periods within a facility.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a high-security environment, logistics, or internal courier role.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or other pharmaceutical industry regulations.
- Experience handling sensitive or regulated materials.
- Valid driver's license (for internal facility vehicle operation, if required).
