Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Trainee Intelligence Analyst. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with no prior experience to enter the critical field of national security, with full sponsorship for required security clearances. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the methodologies and tools necessary to collect, process, and analyse intelligence information to support informed decision-making for government clients. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior intelligence analysts in the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of information.
- Support the preparation of intelligence reports, briefings, and presentations for public sector clients.
- Learn and apply various analytical techniques and intelligence methodologies under guidance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all security protocols when handling sensitive data.
- Participate actively in training programs and continuous professional development initiatives.
- Contribute to team projects and collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve analytical objectives.
- Conduct research using open-source intelligence (OSINT) and classified sources as directed.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and classified information discreetly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A genuine interest in national security, current affairs, and public sector operations.
- Eligibility to obtain UK security clearances (e.g., SC or DV) as sponsored by BAE Systems.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn complex topics quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Political Science, Criminology, History, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of the intelligence cycle or national security concepts (e.g., through academic coursework or personal interest).
- Experience with data analysis or research projects, even in an academic setting.
- Familiarity with geographical information systems (GIS) or data visualization tools.
