Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic security operations team. This is a remote position with a focus on supporting our operations across the USA. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, utilizing Microsoft security technologies. You will assist in vulnerability assessments, incident response, and the implementation of security best practices to protect Microsoft’s assets and customer data. This role is ideal for individuals eager to grow their career in cybersecurity within a leading technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Azure Sentinel, Intune) for alerts and potential threats.
- Perform initial triage and analysis of security incidents, escalating as necessary.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of cybersecurity incidents, including data collection and forensic analysis.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and assist in remediation efforts.
- Support the deployment and management of security controls and configurations within Microsoft environments.
- Generate security reports and provide insights into security posture.
- Participate in security awareness training and promote best practices among colleagues.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and Microsoft security offerings.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Azure cloud services.
- Knowledge of common attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Proficiency in English (US English).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SC-900 Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Understanding of network protocols and security concepts (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
- Prior experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or IT support role.
