Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Python Developer to join our remote team, specializing in Google Data projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring developer with foundational Python skills and a keen interest in cloud data platforms. You will work on real-world data solutions within the Google Cloud ecosystem, assisting with data ingestion, transformation, and analysis. This role is 100% remote, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to impactful projects from anywhere in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy Python scripts for data processing and automation within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Assist in the design and implementation of data pipelines using tools like Google Cloud Dataflow, Composer, or Cloud Functions.
- Write SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from Google BigQuery and other data sources.
- Collaborate with senior developers and data engineers to understand project requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to documentation, and adhere to best practices in software development.
- Troubleshoot and debug data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Basic understanding of SQL for data manipulation.
- Familiarity with fundamental data structures and algorithms.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Exposure to any cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) concepts, especially around data services.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Understanding of basic data warehousing concepts.
- Any personal projects involving Python and data.
