Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio Systems Designer with a strong focus on AV Integration to join our dynamic team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle design of sophisticated audio systems, from initial concept and client consultation to detailed schematics and final commissioning support. This role requires an expert understanding of professional audio technologies, acoustics, network-based audio protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB), and seamless integration within broader AV environments. You will work closely with sales, project management, installation teams, and clients to ensure designs meet functional requirements, budget constraints, and industry best practices, delivering exceptional sound experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of complex audio systems for diverse AV integration projects, including corporate, education, healthcare, and entertainment venues.
- Develop detailed system schematics, block diagrams, cable schedules, and rack elevations using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Visio).
- Conduct site surveys, acoustic analysis, and client consultations to accurately assess project requirements and environmental factors.
- Specify and select appropriate audio equipment, including microphones, mixers, processors, amplifiers, speakers, and related control systems.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant audio standards, codes, and client specifications, focusing on clarity, intelligibility, and performance.
- Collaborate with sales, project managers, and installation teams throughout project execution to provide technical support and resolve design-related issues.
- Prepare comprehensive bill of materials (BOMs) and technical proposals.
- Stay current with emerging audio technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in professional audio system design and AV integration.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) for creating detailed AV drawings.
- Expert knowledge of audio signal flow, acoustics, and digital audio networking protocols (Dante, AVB, AES67).
- Strong understanding of DSP platforms (e.g., QSC Q-SYS, Biamp Tesira) and their programming.
- Familiarity with control system integration (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX) as it relates to audio.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist – Design) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with acoustic modeling software (e.g., EASE, Soundvision).
- Knowledge of video integration and unified communications platforms.
