Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infusion Nurse (RN) to join our private clinic team in Oxnard, CA. This role offers flexible day shifts, allowing for an excellent work-life balance while providing critical care to our patients. As an Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for administering intravenous medications, blood products, and other therapies in a safe and efficient manner. You will manage patient care from assessment to discharge, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous infusions, including medications, chemotherapy, blood products, and hydration therapy, strictly adhering to physician orders and established protocols.
- Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions, complications, and effectiveness of treatment, documenting all observations accurately and timely.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and current symptoms, before, during, and after infusions.
- Educate patients and their families on infusion procedures, potential side effects, self-care practices, and medication administration.
- Maintain and troubleshoot IV access devices, including peripheral IVs, central lines, and PICC lines, ensuring patency and preventing infections.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized patient care plans.
- Ensure proper documentation of all patient care activities, medication administration, and communication with the healthcare team in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Adhere to all safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA) within the clinic setting.
Required Skills
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and IV insertion techniques.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse patient caseload effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- 1 year of direct infusion experience (e.g., oncology, home infusion, critical care).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Certified Registered Infusion Nurse (CRNI) certification.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
