Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Pear Pickers for the upcoming harvest season. This is a temporary, on-site role perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors and are looking for a physically active job. You will be responsible for carefully hand-picking pears from our traditional orchards, ensuring only the highest quality fruit is selected. This role offers weekly payouts and the chance to work in a beautiful Scottish setting, contributing directly to the production of our renowned fruit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hand-picking pears from trees according to quality standards and ripeness guidelines.
  • Carefully placing picked fruit into containers, minimising bruising or damage.
  • Following supervisor instructions regarding specific picking areas and techniques.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area within the orchard.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations on the farm.
  • Working efficiently and effectively as part of a team to meet daily targets.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to identify ripe fruit and pick without damage.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (rain, sun, wind).
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • No prior experience required; full training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in fruit picking or agricultural labour is an advantage but not essential.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Access to reliable transportation to reach the orchard location.
