Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Point-of-Sale Pharmacy Clerk to join our team in Anaheim. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for many of our pharmacy customers, providing essential support for transactions and ensuring a smooth, positive experience. You will manage sales transactions, assist with customer inquiries, and maintain a clean and organized front-end pharmacy area. This position is crucial for maintaining efficient pharmacy operations and upholding CVS Pharmacy’s high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process prescription and over-the-counter sales accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions, ensuring proper change and reconciliation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, and directing customers to appropriate pharmacy staff when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with stocking shelves, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the pharmacy’s front-end is tidy and well-organized.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, redirecting or taking messages as needed.
  • Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks and general store upkeep.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Proven ability to operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or common pharmaceutical products.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
