Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and physically capable Stagehands to join our production team for casual, on-call work at our premier music venues in the Arlington, VA area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about live music and events, looking for flexible work with weekly payouts. As a Stagehand, you will be instrumental in setting up and tearing down stages, lighting, sound equipment, and other production elements for various concerts and events. While prior experience is a plus, a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn are paramount. This role offers an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the live music industry and the chance to contribute to memorable performances.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of stage equipment, musical instruments, sound systems, and lighting rigs.
- Set up and strike stages, risers, backline equipment, and other production elements according to technical specifications and safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with production managers, audio engineers, lighting technicians, and other crew members.
- Operate various tools and machinery safely under supervision, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and power tools (training provided as needed).
- Maintain a clean and organized backstage area during setup, show, and teardown.
- Adhere strictly to all venue safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic understanding of stage safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a stagehand, production assistant, or general labor role within live events or similar settings.
- Familiarity with various types of audio, lighting, or stage equipment.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry or electrical principles.
- Forklift or scissor lift certification.
- Valid driver's license.
