Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior HSE Coordinator to join our team in Oceanside, CA. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about safety and environmental stewardship to gain hands-on experience and grow within a leading global company. The successful candidate will support the implementation and monitoring of our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. You will work closely with project teams, management, and regulatory bodies to foster a strong safety culture and promote sustainable environmental practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE management systems and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental permits.
  • Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, including incident reports, safety data sheets (SDS), training records, and environmental permits.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety orientations and training sessions to employees and contractors on various HSE topics.
  • Monitor environmental performance metrics and contribute to environmental reporting.
  • Assist with waste management programs, ensuring proper segregation, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site personnel to integrate HSE requirements into project planning and execution.
  • Stay informed about current HSE regulations and best practices, recommending updates to company policies as needed.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant HSE regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with all levels of staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to conduct detailed inspections and identify potential risks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or volunteer experience in an HSE role.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Knowledge of California-specific environmental and safety regulations.
