Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Improvement Nurse with a strong focus on data analysis and compliance. This role will be instrumental in driving continuous quality improvement initiatives across our healthcare system. The ideal candidate will leverage clinical expertise, data analytics, and regulatory knowledge to identify areas for improvement, develop evidence-based interventions, and ensure adherence to best practices and compliance standards. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to monitor performance metrics, prepare reports, and facilitate educational programs to foster a culture of safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in quality improvement projects, utilizing data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process enhancement.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data to monitor performance against quality metrics, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Develop and implement action plans based on data analysis to improve patient outcomes, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accrediting body standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on quality improvement activities, findings, and recommendations for various stakeholders, including leadership and clinical staff.
- Educate and mentor staff on quality improvement methodologies, data interpretation, and compliance guidelines.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to develop, revise, and implement policies and procedures related to quality and patient safety.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to quality and compliance.
- Stay current with healthcare quality trends, regulatory changes, and evidence-based practices.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, patient safety, or compliance within a healthcare setting.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, interdisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
- Certification in Quality Improvement (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and quality reporting platforms.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements from CMS, Joint Commission, and other relevant bodies.
