Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk with a strong focus on data entry to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, with a particular emphasis on maintaining precise digital records. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in computer systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Accurately enter all shipping and receiving data into the inventory management system.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and creating shipping documents.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
  • Assist with resolving shipping and receiving discrepancies and issues.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in data entry and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment.
  • Experience with inventory management software or ERP systems.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
