Job Description
Are you a dedicated CDL-A professional looking for a consistent, local route that gets you home daily? Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking experienced Local CDL-A Drivers to join our team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This is an incredible opportunity to earn a guaranteed weekly income while enjoying the predictability of a local route. You’ll be responsible for safe and efficient transportation of freight within a designated regional area, ensuring on-time deliveries and pickups. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial motor vehicle (tractor-trailer) safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to DOT regulations and company policy.
- Transport freight between company terminals and customer locations within a local/regional service area.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery and pickup of goods.
- Load and unload freight as required, using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of driving activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Minimum of 24 months (2 years) verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Experience operating various types of commercial vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement.
- Tanker endorsement.
- Experience with LTL freight operations.
- Forklift certification.
