Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Funeral Limousine Driver to join our team. This role is crucial in providing dignified transportation services for families and funeral participants. You will be responsible for operating funeral vehicles with the utmost care and respect, ensuring punctuality, safety, and comfort. The ideal candidate will possess an impeccable driving record, a professional demeanor, and a deep understanding of the sensitive nature of our work.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and courteously transport family members and funeral participants to and from funeral services, visitations, and interments.
- Operate funeral vehicles, including limousines, hearses, and other support vehicles, maintaining them in pristine condition.
- Adhere strictly to schedules and routes, ensuring timely arrival and departure for all services.
- Assist passengers, particularly the elderly or those with mobility challenges, with entering and exiting vehicles.
- Maintain a professional appearance and respectful demeanor at all times, reflecting the values of Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and prepared for each service.
- Assist with other funeral home duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented attitude.
Required Skills
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C or higher).
- Impeccable driving record with no major violations.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion, empathy, and professionalism in sensitive situations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs when assisting with equipment or floral arrangements.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and routes within Visalia and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in professional driving or chauffeur services.
- Familiarity with the customs and etiquette of funeral services.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
