Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Junior E-line / Slickline Operator to join our dynamic team in Chicago, IL. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to embark on a rewarding career in the oil and gas industry with one of its leading service providers. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training to operate and maintain E-line and Slickline equipment, performing downhole operations for well intervention, logging, and data acquisition. This role involves significant field work, often in challenging environments, and requires a strong commitment to safety protocols. A ‘High Daily Bonus’ structure is in place to reward exceptional performance and dedication.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior operators in the preparation, setup, and operation of E-line and Slickline units on location.
- Learn to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on E-line and Slickline equipment, including pressure control equipment.
- Actively participate in pre-job safety meetings and hazard assessments, ensuring all operations comply with safety standards and company policies.
- Operate slickline tools and various downhole devices to perform well interventions, including setting and pulling plugs, running gauges, and conducting basic fishing operations.
- Aid in the interpretation of data gathered during slickline and E-line operations.
- Maintain accurate records of job activities, equipment usage, and well data.
- Ensure all equipment is properly rigged up, tested, and rigged down in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collaborate effectively with wellsite personnel, clients, and other crew members.
- Adhere to all regulatory and company-specific health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within a specified timeframe.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work long hours in various weather conditions and travel to remote sites as needed.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to strict operational procedures.
- Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical diploma in a related field (e.g., Petroleum Technology, Diesel Mechanics).
- Previous experience in a field operations role, heavy equipment operation, or similar industrial environment.
- Basic knowledge of oil and gas well operations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- HSE certifications relevant to the oil and gas industry.
