Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and analytical Quality Improvement Nurse with a strong focus on data and compliance to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in enhancing patient care and safety outcomes through meticulous data analysis, interpretation, and adherence to regulatory standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of healthcare quality metrics, and the ability to drive change through evidence-based practices. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data from various sources to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential compliance risks.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and action plans based on data analysis and best practices.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accrediting body standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on quality metrics, improvement activities, and compliance status for leadership and relevant committees.
- Educate and collaborate with clinical staff on quality improvement processes, data collection methods, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, facilitating the collection of necessary documentation and responding to findings.
- Lead or support root cause analyses for adverse events and near misses, developing corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and other data systems for quality reporting and analysis.
- Support the development and revision of policies and procedures related to quality and compliance.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical nursing experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality improvement, patient safety, or compliance within a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using relevant software (e.g., Excel, statistical packages)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS), and quality methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for data extraction and reporting
- Familiarity with HCA Florida Healthcare's specific quality metrics and reporting systems
- Experience leading quality improvement projects from conception to implementation
