Job Description

Riverwalk Sound Collective is seeking talented and versatile Session Musicians with a strong focus on recording studio work. This is a per-project contract role for instrumentalists and vocalists eager to contribute their skills to a variety of musical projects. As a session musician, you will be an integral part of our recording sessions, laying down tracks, performing overdubs, and providing creative input as needed. We are looking for musicians who are not only technically proficient but also excellent sight-readers, improvisers, and collaborators, capable of adapting to different styles and demands on short notice. Key Responsibilities

• Perform instrumental or vocal parts accurately and expressively during recording sessions, adhering to given charts, demos, or verbal direction.
• Quickly learn and interpret musical arrangements across various genres.
• Provide creative input and suggestions that enhance the musicality of a track, if appropriate and requested.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for all scheduled sessions.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, producers, and other musicians in the studio environment.
• Be open to feedback and direction, making adjustments to performances as required.
• Utilize personal instruments and equipment as needed, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
• Record multiple takes and overdubs to achieve desired sounds and performances.

Required Skills

• Expert proficiency on primary instrument(s) (e.g., guitar, bass, drums, piano, strings, brass, vocals).
• Strong sight-reading abilities for charts, lead sheets, and tablature.
• Demonstrated ability to perform across multiple genres (e.g., rock, pop, jazz, R&B, country, folk).
• Excellent sense of rhythm, timing, and intonation.
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Basic understanding of studio etiquette and recording processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with home recording setups and basic DAW operation (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live).
• Ability to improvise and create original parts within a given musical framework.
• Knowledge of music theory and composition.
• Previous experience as a session musician or performing in professional recording environments.
• Access to high-quality, professional-grade instruments and amplification (if applicable).
