Job Description
Join Sobeys Inc. as an Entry-Level Goods-In Receiving Clerk at our Gaspé location. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the accurate and efficient receipt of incoming goods, blending administrative tasks with hands-on warehouse duties. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery notes for accuracy and damage.
- Accurately record all incoming goods into the inventory management system using scanners and computer software.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper storage or distribution of received products.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and discrepancies resolution as required.
- Operate basic material handling equipment safely, such as pallet jacks, if certified or after training.
- Prepare and process necessary documentation, including receiving reports and discrepancy logs.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal staff regarding delivery schedules and issues.
Required Skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Good organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or administrative support role is an asset.
