Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Audiologist to join our team in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. This is an exciting opportunity for both domestic and international applicants to contribute to a vibrant community and a supportive professional environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive audiological services, including diagnostic evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and counseling. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments for patients of all ages.
  • Interpret audiometric results to diagnose hearing loss and related disorders.
  • Recommend and fit appropriate hearing aid devices and assistive listening technologies.
  • Provide thorough counseling to patients and their families regarding hearing loss, treatment options, and device usage.
  • Perform routine hearing aid maintenance, repairs, and adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Stay current with advancements in audiology and hearing technology through continuing education.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
  • Eligible for registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of Prince Edward Island (CSHHPEI) or ability to obtain.
  • Proven experience in diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using audiological equipment and software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a private practice or clinic setting.
  • Familiarity with various hearing aid manufacturers and their product lines.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • Experience with tele-audiology services.
